Great ideas are hard to come by  

They're even harder if you're waiting for them to come to you.  

 "An object at rest will remain at rest unless a force is acted on it" - this is as true for ideas as it is for physical objects.   

So how do you create great ideas? Get into the habit of generating loads of them, all the time.   Most of them will be rubbish, so bin them. But some will come back, recycle them and turn them into something great!
