The Skeptics’ Bible Project
John & Ben
47 episodes

The Skeptics’ Bible Project is a podcast where we (John & Ben) share our fascination with studying the Bible outside of the lens of religion. Our project is to rescue the Bible from fundamentalists who insist it must only be read from a devotional perspective. We dig deeply to find the true history and teachings found inside. In each episode we try to present the Bible in a fresh perspective using the historical critical method. Always eager to engage in the exciting conversation with Skeptics, Atheists, and Christian’s alike. Weekly topics include Bible contradictions, historical errors, non-orthodox teachings, down right strange passages, and everything that most Pastors won’t mention from the pulpit. We are grateful to all those who are part of this dialogue.

Bible Forgery Part 6: Did Peter write 1 Peter?
In the latest edition of their forgery series, John and Ben tackle the question: Did Peter actually write any of the works attributed to him? The evidence isn't looking promising. For starters, literacy wasn't exactly Peter's strong suit according to biblical accounts. So, does 1 Peter bear the hallmarks of a Galilean fisherman? Spoiler: not likely. And In their "Bible Says What?" segment, John and Ben explore the Gospel of Matthew to uncover who really gets blamed for the crucifixion of Jesus. Is it the Romans, the Jews, or someone else entirely? This episode promises some surprising revelations and deep dives into biblical texts.
