On episode 183 I am delighted to be joined by Galway and Kilmacud Crokes senior footballer Shane Walsh.
We discuss what it means to be skillful, developing his skillset and locker, what he practices on the pitch, the art of kicking, and the importance of visualisation. This was a fascinating insight into the mentality and attitude of one of the most skilled footballers in the country!
We dive into the skills of the game and his attention to detail in learning and practicing skills. He details nuances like hand placement, visualisation of the posts and free taking.
We also discuss falling out of love with football and the pressure that can come with being an inter-county player. Shane gives an honest account of the challenges he's faced and the advice he received from those around him.
A joy to watch on the pitch it was a pleasure picking his brain about the science of skills and kicking!
