Episode 22 - Polina
In Episode 22 of The Shuffle Curious Podcast, it was a pleasure speaking with Polina Borukhova! A talented hip-hop and shuffle dancer from Colorado who absolutely loves moving her body.
Polina started shuffling after seeing some inspirational dancers online. She was captivated by Vanessa Seco, a skilled shuffler, whose moves ignited Polina's curiosity and passion for the unique style.
Her early forays into the world of raving dated back to 2014, but it wasn't until after years of attending shows that she began listening to more techno and house music. In 2018 she discovered her calling to shuffle..
Polina's dedication to the shuffle community extended beyond her dance moves. She took the initiative to organize shuffle meetups, even though they didn't initially gain traction. These early efforts showed how much she wanted to share this dance with others.
A turning point in her shuffling came when she connected with the Mile High Shufflers in 2019. This newfound community provided her with dance partners, fostering a deeper love for shuffling.
Polina's journey took her to some of the most renowned music festivals, including Electric Forest and Time Warp. These experiences allowed her to share the dance floor with fellow shufflers, solidifying her connection with the community, and eventually joining the crew, Classic Movement..
Polina's current mission is to break down the boundaries of shuffling by integrating various dance styles. She believes in setting an example by introducing different styles into her own flow and by organizing shuffle battles alongside “all styles” battles.
Looking ahead, Polina is passionate about organizing more shuffle events, particularly battles. She firmly believes that battling is a cornerstone of shuffle culture, encouraging shufflers to compete and explore different dance forms and, in turn, enhance their shuffling!

Polina Borukhova is a dancer from Denver, CO. When she’s not dancing in the club, she’s lifting weights at the gym, dancing at the studios, and spending time outdoors. She is an active participant in the rave scene and is excited to expand her horizons with new music.
