Episode 20 - Sedd @whathesedd (SSS Series)

In the 20th episode of The Shuffle Curious Podcast, we are continuing with the SideShowShufflers Series, featuring one of its members, Sedd Gomez. Originally from New York City, Sedd's lifelong passion for dancing led him to delve into shuffling as a way to overcome the inertia after losing a loved one. He found inspiration from iconic shufflers like Moonboy and Turtle from Hard Dance Criminals while watching YouTube videos. He also stumbled upon videos of FTS, gaining more inspiration. Relocating to San Diego in 2013, Sedd pursued shuffling more seriously and formed connections within the dance community across the state. Attending shows and festivals exposed him to more dancers from various locations.

Sedd's admiration for members of SideShowShufflers motivated him to join the crew. After communicating with crew leader Daniel, he successfully secured a spot within the group after trying out and showing his dedication. Beyond his involvement with the crew, Sedd plays a leadership role in San Diego. He actively contributes to the Shuffle and Flow collective, an initiative that provides a safe space for shufflers to meet, share their passion, and practice together. Sedd and his co-organizers have ambitious plans to foster the growth of the shuffle community in San Diego, aiming to shape its future in innovative ways.

Bio:

Sedd Gomez is a Trinidadian American, originally from Brooklyn NYC, but California has his heart. He’s been in California for 10 years, dancing the whole time. Community driven and one of the hosts for @Shuffle.flow, being focused on creating safe spaces for others to express themselves. Definitely the example of SideshowShufflers motto “You can dance with us.”
