
Today's episode puts the spotlight on Sickle Cell Anemia which affects nearly 20,000 people in the UK, over 100,000 in the US. It's estimated that 20million people are currently living with Sickle Cell anaemia with the majority living in Africa. Sickle Cell mainly affects people of African and Carrieban decent, with 1 in 13 babies born carrying the trait. Today we interview Abbey Mensah who has sickle cell. She lets us into her life and gives her perspective on what it's like to live with the disease and what can be done to help those liven with Sickle Cell.
