Parent Series: Tweens! How to Talk to your 9-13 year old PreTeen & Keep your Cool
This episode I’m talking about how to have effective sexual health education discussions with your tween (part of the many conversations you’ve already had)… and helping them build capacity for healthy relationships with their own identities and their relationships— including navigating challenges with: friends and peers, puberty changes, how to say no to peer pressure, conversations dating, coming out & discovering sexual orientation, gender identity for males, females, intersex and LBGQTQ plus & trans gender and gender non conforming tweens. Also, how to be a good friend and ally, how to promote your values as a parent and be a good role model through a sex positive framework, and eliminating using shame , guilt or fear in these conversations. By giving your tween accurate information you support them in making responsible choices in the future when they will face real life choices.
