Forgiveness is the most powerful gift that we can give ourselves. It's not even about what the other person did. It's about whether or not we want to be free. We cannot hold another person in bondage and expect to be free ourselves.
Whatever it is, when we forgive, we are not approving of or even accepting what happened. We are simply choosing freedom for ourselves, because the only person who suffers from our unforgiveness is us. We keep reliving what happened over and over. Each time we hurt ourselves by reliving it, we blame the person who only hurt us once. And the resentment grows and grows until we can no longer feel the warmth of the sunlight of the spirit.
Moving into the light again is a choice that only we can make. Nothing the other person can do will ever free us. Ultimately it comes down to one simple question: would you rather be right or happy? What if they aren't mutually inclusive?
Enjoy!
Special thanks to Patrick Patrikios for the use of his song "Love Aside" in the intro and outro.
