Founded in 2013 alongside childhood friends Stephen and Nicholas Polando, the brand has become a symbol of local pride and community engagement. ​ A native of Chandler, Arizona, Spangenberg's entrepreneurial journey began with a passion for clothing, sports, and his home state. Before dedicating himself full-time to State Forty Eight, he studied hospitality at Scottsdale Community College and worked in the hotel industry, eventually rising to the position of general manager.
