Ep 43 - Interview with Michael Daly
Michael is a chippy from Canberra who decided after a few years away from running, where he had competed in the 8 and 1500mtr along with national cross country, would try his hand at the road marathon discipline. Mick ran his first marathon in Melbourne 2013 running a 2:52 setting up a pattern of substantially lowering his finishing time over the following 4 years with the end result being a 2:30 on the Gold Coast in 2017. Mick maintained his strength and interest in running by training and competing on the trails in marathon and ultra marathon distances where he consistently performed at the highest level and was often spotted standing on the podium at post race presentations. One of Micks better performances was a 5th place at 6ft track in 2018 running a 3:33 and backing up with a 2nd at the UTA50. With a 2:27 just ran on the Gold Coast, Mick has his sights set on lowering that time in Melbourne come October and working towards that Sub 2:20 barrier that only a talented few will ever experience, all the best Mick.    Greatly appreciate your support for the podcast on Patreon -www.patreon.com/therunningguypodcast   The Running Guy Podcast Singlet -www.therunningguypodcastsinglet   The Running Guy Coaching Website - therunningguy.com.au   Instagram - Instagram.com/therunningguypodcast   Facebook - therunningguypodcast   Join The Running Guy Podcast Strava Club -  therunningguypodcast   YouTube Channel youtube.com/channel/UCAvM0q11KzHkLBoL0LX_9lw   Opening music - Artist: Soundroll Song: Lost in Love Closing music -  Artist: Dan Henig Song: Wood   DanHenig.com   Hey guy's if you are enjoying listening to the show and would like to make a small donation of support then follow this PayPal link https://paypal.me/astonduncan?locale.x=en_AU
