I’m Andrew Finlay Stewart, and I’m the host of a new podcast called The Rules of the Show. I’ll be talking to guests about rules they like and rules they hate, from board games and sports, to legislation and regulation, laws of physics or fashion dos and don’ts. Anything from biblical Thou Shalt Nots to household rules they grew up with.
But that’s just the beginning. Every episode, my guests will introduce a new rule for the podcast. We’ll debate and discuss it, and then add it to the rules of the show, changing the podcast forever,
I predict some of these new rules will be silly and small, and some could fundamentally change the nature of the show.
But I don’t know where this is going to go any more than you do, we’ll be along for the ride together. I hope you will join me in messing around with The Rules of the Show.

Timothea Armour (artist, friend) joins the show to discuss 3-(no win no fee)-sided football, being contrarian, and playing/appreciating the heraldic aesthetics of sports. Plus we get into the arts of table tennis and sound design, and the show is forever changed (as usual).
Timothea's radio art collective Radiophrenia is broadcasting from the 7th-20th of April, and you can listen online at Radiophrenia.scot or 87.9FM if you are in Glasgow. You can also order her pamphlet Roy Orbison in Ruins: A script for anywhere that has a karaoke night.
Thanks to Bryan Da Silva for the Good Question music. You can find the show on instagram @therulesoftheshow and bluesky @therulesoftheshow.com, and email at andrew@therulesoftheshow.com.
