The Trials are also one-shot RPG Sessions of various systems. The difference (in regards to Field Trips) is that we are more focused on explaining the rules and highlighting the system. We want these episodes to be a way for listeners to get a sense of what a session in these systems would be like in order for them to decide if they want to try the game for themselves and/or help them learn the rules of a new system. Rob Stith joins RPG Academy faculty for a journey into paranormal mystery with The ORPHEUS Protocol, a game live on Kickstarter right now. Agents of the shadowy occult-paramilitary operation known as ORPHEUS are tasked with securing and assessing a long-abandoned research station deep in the woods of central Indiana, site of long-ago atrocities and horrors redacted into oblivion. What they find is more mystifying and horrific than they could ever have imagined.
