Season 6, Episode 5. Anna Morawiec Mansfield. Legal Counsel at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). I recently met Anna and was so impressed that I had to invite her to the podcast. Even then, I could not have imagined the amazing conversation we would have. I have been doing this for a while, but a few conversations have really stood out, and this is one of them. Anna's story is a testament to resilience, determination, and character. Like many immigrants, she has faced numerous challenges, but as Anna herself describes it, overcoming challenges is her and many immigrants' superpower. Anna tells us about growing up in Poland and moving to the United States. Then, before going to law school, she worked in many places, always with an international outlook, and eventually decided that law school would give her the tools to continue pursuing what she really wanted to do. Then, almost as if she was destined to, she made it to the State Department, which eventually brought her to Geneva. After a few years, she moved to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). I talked to her a few days after the successful conclusion of the WIPO Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, and Associated Traditional Knowledge.
