Happy Halloween Husker Fans!!
Following a win at Northwestern, the University of Nebraska extended football Head Coach Matt Rhule’s contract through the 2032 season. The deal reportedly increased the buyout from $5 million to $15 million dollars.
How do you feel Husker fans? Is the $10 million increase in the buyout enough to keep the wicked witch (in this case Penn State) at bay or will we find ourselves in her caldron at the end of this season despite the extension?

Husker fans, is our Halloween nightmare over? We at the Husker Fans in Montana Podcast hope it is and that Matt Rhule remains at Nebraska. However, we cannot fault Coach Rhule if he returns to the university he played at and has loved since birth. While the additional $10 million is a lot to us, we don’t believe it will be a roadblock to Penn State if they want Matt Rhule as their next head coach.
Maybe the best thing is to relax and enjoy the rest of the season. Perhaps that is the purpose of this extension all along. Let’s just not fall into the false sense of security that we will not end up in the old witch’s caldron at the end of the year.
"Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it" is a saying Husker fans should keep in mind.
