Kent served 23 years in the Field Artillery, six as an enlisted (regular) where he was the rank of Sgt and then became an Officer throught the Officer Candidate school. He retired as a Major.  Kent deployed twice to Iraq. The first deployment was in relative safety, however the second he was deployed with 87th Infantry as a fire support officer.
