Becoming affiliated with a gang during his teenage years, he was recognized for his potential due to his effective methods.
However, this dangerous lifestyle caught up with him, and Sal found himself targeted from within the gang. Through a miraculous escape, he fled to Texas, where he became homeless for five months. During this time, a stranger’s kindness in providing reading materials led him to pick up a Bible. This moment became a turning point, igniting a desire for change in his heart.
Not long after, Sal was taken in by a compassionate Christian couple who showed him what true love and support look like. Their guidance gave him a glimpse of what having real parents felt like.
