How Trauma Rewires your Brain Part 1

Trauma isn’t just an emotional wound—it literally changes how the brain functions.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study by the CDC and Kaiser Permanente (1995–1997) surveyed 17,000 adults about childhood trauma (abuse, neglect, household dysfunction).

67% reported at least 1 ACE.

➡️ 1 in 8 reported 4 or more ACEs.

➡️ The higher the ACE score, the higher the risk for:

➡️ Depression & anxiety

➡️ Substance use

➡️ Heart disease, diabetes, & other chronic illnesses

➡️ Shorter life expectancy (up to 20 years)
