THE SON OF GOD
JESUS
Jesus is the ultimate firstborn (a title applied to him by Paul). The gospel authors never refer directly to Jesus as God's firstborn, but they do refer to him as the Son of God, a title that connects to the theme of the firstborn “Jesus is designated as God's Son because he was conceived by the Holy Spirit instead of by a human father.” Jesus is called the "Son of God," and followers of Jesus are called, "Christians." As applied to Jesus, the term is a reference to his role as the Messiah, or Christ, the King chosen by God.
