How Does SEL Support Teacher Wellbeing and Retention?

Burnout and turnover among teachers is on the rise in many school districts. We know that social and emotional learning (SEL) can support students’ wellbeing, but SEL practices can also benefit teachers. In episode four, we dive into the challenges teachers are facing and explore how SEL can improve teacher wellbeing and retention.

In this episode, we hear from a variety of teachers, administrators and district and organization leaders deeply involved in SEL: Dr. Dena Simmons, Cecelia Terrazas, Jarrett Austin Thomas, Tamara Uselman, Tina Vasquez and Leigh Vierstra.
