What does climate change look like to you? More floods, more droughts, heatwaves or is it all of them The world is now about 1.2C warmer than it was in the 19th Century - and the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen by 50%. Climate change has different effects in different areas of the world. Some places will warm more than others, some will receive more rainfall and others will face more droughts. Many African nations are likely to suffer droughts and food shortages To combat climate change, rich nations in 2019 promised they would send at least $100bn a year in climate finance to poorer countries by 2020. That understanding formed the basis of the 2015 Paris climate accord, which aims to limit global warming to well below 2C, ideally 1.5C. From the Paris Agreement, we now are at COP26 in 2021. What exactly is COP26 and what should Africa expect from these climate talks?
