This week, I sit down with Bridger Hahn—educator, mother, and folk herbalist—who brings so much grounded wisdom, vulnerability, and beauty to the conversation. From a third-trimester move and unexpected induction, to the raw realities of postpartum anxiety, perennial healing (yes, poop is involved), extended breastfeeding, and learning to find her ME again—this episode is full of resonance. Bridger reminds us that motherhood isn’t something we master—it’s something we move through, with instinct, support, and surrender. If you’re in the thick of the early years or just need a reminder that your experience is valid, this one’s for you.
Bridger Hahn is an educator, mother, and folk herbalist in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. She communes and co-creates an artful life with Mother Nature wherever she goes. In her gardens, she grows beautiful flowers to adorn ceremonies and celebrations. She welcomes children and adults alike into her outdoor classroom, where she shares her passion and love for the plants and the more than human beings that live amongst them. Working with her hands to create herbal remedies from plant allies for her family and community sets her soul aflame! Her self-care is a drive over the river and through the woods to wander deep into the tributaries of the Black River, where she shares sacred space amongst her ancestors and the animal kingdom. She is a member of the Friends of the Black River NC, a coalition of individuals committed to protecting its unique and ancient ecosystem. Visit her at the Carolina Beach Market this summer!
