High blood pressure, the need to travel 3 hours to Dunedin for hospital care at the end of pregnancy, navigating a ‘grey’ situation, coping with differing opinions, induction with misoprostol, epidural, ventouse, unconsented clamping of cord, processing trauma.
In Jana’s second pregnancy – hiring a doula, making big decisions, having hard conversations, surrender, and a straight forward homebirth to Charlie.
This episode is dedicated to all the parents from Central Otago and/or similar areas who have to make big decisions about whether to stay in the area to birth at a birthcentre or home, or make the big trip (sometimes 3 hours or more) to the nearest hospital.
