For episode two of The Plaza Podcast, we are joined by Kate Weiman, who will be reading her short story, "Tsunami." She chose this title because it sums up where we are in the world, emotionally and physically. We seem to be facing a tsunami in every aspect of mankind. Kate states, “The short story form gives me the most satisfaction, maybe because it doesn't take all that long! It's a burst of storytelling, with a beginning, middle and ending with a good button!”
Kate Weiman has been in show business for many years. She says, “I'm not 80 yet, even though in the commercial I'm currently in, I declare so. I will admit to being 'in the business' for many years covering every aspect of it. I've dabbled in all the arts and now find myself dipping into the short story form. It suits me to a T. When I write, it's as if I'm chatting over the fence sharing the news and gossip of the day."
Manhattan Plaza is a residential complex located in New York City. 70% of its residents are members of the performing arts, who have worked in film, television, and on Broadway. Each week we bring you creative works and conversations with these very residents.
