7. Emma Young // Leaping Into The Fire

In this weeks episode I spoke with the immensely talented Adelaide artist, Emma Young. Emma Young is a Glass Blower and in 2018 was highly commended in the Urban Cow studio Art Prize, she was the winner of the 2019 "All Connections to Unley" art prize and in the following October of 2019 she launched her first solo exhibition showcased at Urban Cow Studio. She has been featured in SA life magazine in June 2020 and was a highlighted artist in film maker, Henry Thongs mini series, Makers who inspire.

In this episode we discuss:

+ Where her love and obsession for glass blowing started

+ We discuss her artistic style

+ We explore what places and things that inspire Emma's creative and often quirky works of art

+ We explore the phenomenon of "creative block" and Emma shares her tips for getting creative ideas flowing

+ We discuss the common blocks that hold people back from showcasing their creative work publicly or from taking the leap to try creating art in the first place

+ We explore Art Therapy and how tapping into our creative sides acts as a successful therapeutic tool for many

and so much more!
