Compassion motivates people to go out of their way to relieve the physical, mental or emotional pains of others and themselves. Compassion is often regarded as being sensitive to the emotional aspects of the suffering of others.
Whilst compassion should be paramount in the medical field, our personal experiences showed us that most doctors have still a long way to go when it comes to using it in their daily patient conversations.
Our guest this week is an Argentinian pathologist from Buenos Aires, Dr Pablo Dezanzo.
All of his career practices are based on compassion and embrace a humanistic vision of life, health and the medicine as science and art of healing.
His vision encourages his daily duties as father, his hospital practice and teaching activity in the School of Medicine as Professor of Histology and Cell Biology.
He defines himself as “an unusual pathologist always available to meet patients face-to-face”.
Pablo worked as a volunteer assisting oncological patients in palliative cares.
Join us for another episode that concerns everyone, but mainly doctors or any one working in the medical field dealing with patients.
