I was joined by Professor Cheryl Thompson to discuss Black Beauty Culture and Critical Race Theory.
Thompson is an Assistant Professor in Creative Industries at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada.
She is the author of Uncle: Race, Nostalgia, and the Politics of Loyalty and Beauty in a Box: Detangling the Roots of Canada’s Black Beauty Culture.
In addition to publishing in academic journals, magazines, and newspapers, she has also appeared on numerous podcasts and media platforms in Canada and around the world.
I am grateful and honoured to have Professor Cheryl Thompson on the podcast.
