Episode Four: Design an Opportunity We recorded this episode in the lead up to International Women's Day 2019, it gaves us great opportunity to dissect the topic of equal opportunities in design roles and retention of women in the workforce. Kim MacKenzie Doyle - WhyDesign With over 20 years in the Irish design industry, Kim has firmly made an impact as an award-winning product designer cum event manager, entrepreneur and marketer. Notable for designing one of the world's leading mouse designs, Kim now oversees the WhyDesign initiative aimed at encouraging participation in design for females in second level education. Aiden McGale - DesignTalent A blow in from Omagh, Aiden McGale is the Practice Director for the newly-established resource, Design Talent, with a focus on recruitment for design and innovation. When he's not connecting employers with employees, he curates and hosts Creative Mornings in The Tara Building.

Episode Two: Film and Funding Alfonso Films Claire Byrne, Jo Halpin and Emma Wall form a filmmaking trio with collective passion and enthusiasm for all facets of Irish film. Their process is particularly interesting as their positions vary from production to production; swapping from writer to producer to director. With early beginnings borne from the Filmbase training course, Alfonso have worked on various shorts, screened at festivals and events throughout Ireland. Their debut short film 'Spent' appeared in the Women in Television and Film Ireland Showcase in 2018, and they have been selected as Bumble's five shorts for the first ever Female Film Force. I'm sure you'll agree that Alfonso are forces to be reckoned with!

Episode Two: The Process of Riso and Collaboration Or Studio Led by Kate Brangan and Jo Little, Or Studio is a collaboration built on a shared passion for design and print, but especially for Riso print. After early friendships formed in the Visual Communication department at IADT, Kate and Jo chatted about setting up a studio in Dublin for the guts of a decade but jobs and opportunities in London stalled their plans until 2016. Originally formed in a studio in Rathmines, Kate and Jo have since moved to Dublin's North Inner City where they collaborate with each other and their risograph printer. In this episode, we chatted about being your boss, setting up a studio with your best friend the importance of maintaining client relationships. Vote for Women Avril Delaney and Katie Kidd are a copywriter and art director duo from Boys and Girls who initiated Vote for Women, a foldout zine and poster that educated and informed in the lead up to the Referendum to Repeal the Eight Amendment. Avril and Katie have a wealth of experience working on large international campaigns, with Katie being awarded the 2018 Greenhorn for most promising creative by The Institute of Creative Advertising & Design (ICAD) and Avril being shortlisted for a Cannes Lion for her work with Three Ireland.
