How will the Jackdaw compete with the other birds' bright colours?
Wild Wonder is a podcast for families brought to you by Story Stitchers. We explore the outdoors and share stories about what we discover. Curated with our children as we believe that if children hear others speaking, it makes them feel powerful with their own voice.
**Episode Three - The Jackdaw** The Jackdaw was a black plain bird with small white eyes and a grey hood. He would hang around looking for opportunities to take little treasures back to his nest.
One day the king called a competition. He wanted to design a new flag where the kingdom's best bird would be at the centre. Jackdaw desperately wanted to win and told his friend Magpie about his plan to compete for the position on the King’s flag. Magpie thought the whole thing was silly. Jackdaw sang and entertained the king all the time with Jester Jack, he didn’t need to be on any flag!
An adapted folktale written, performed & produced by Felicity Goodman of Story Stitchers.
