As salamu alaikum and hello, and welcome to the third episode of the Niyyah chronicles. At the beginning of 2022 I had a very poignant conversation with a friend. I went out of this conversation with two resolutions for the new year - these two outlooks have influenced so many of my decisions this year, and have allowed me to grow out of comfort zones and into a much healthier mental space.

A few days ago I had a conversation with an old friend, and we talked for a very long time. I was again struck by how deep conversations can be, especially if you know each other well. But going deep in a conversation is a choice you can make anytime - i feel like we rarely do that anymore. Here are some thoughts as to why - and why it's so rewarding to chase depth in life.
