After teaching Reiki Master class last weekend, I realized there are three things I wish everyone knew about energy healing.
I didn't teach Reiki for ten years because I was learning and sharing so many other healing modalities. Taking my Next Level Healer graduates to the Reiki Master training was so revealing to me and gave me such a growth snapshot of my own evolutionary timeline.
Here's a recap of the three things I really wish everyone knew when it comes to energy healing.

* Energy work is an every day occurrence, just like brushing and flossing your teeth. You will never get done and you have to learn how to keep yourself clean, clear and grounded on a daily basis. The work is never ending and even though I highly recommend receiving work from a skilled practitioner, that will never be enough. You have to be in the driver's seat of your own healing, weeding your garden every single day. 
* Your body is electrical. There's nothing woo woo or mystical about the fact that the voltage your body produces can be harnessed and directed by YOU. Your electrical power is yours for the taking. You get to tell the energy in your body where to go and what to do. 
* Energy work is easy and comes in all kinds of forms. Most people think of being on a treatment table when they think of receiving energy healing but energy work is affirmations, visualizations, qi gong, cooking, breathing, mindfulness, you name it. When you live the lifestyle of a healer, your entire life is energy work. The hard part is slowing down and carving out the time to do energy healing. You already have what it takes to do energy work: breath, intention and imagination.

This is the story of my spirit retrieval experience at Serpent Mound, OH. You might also find yourself gathering your energy back from places you've left it.

As a shamanic practitioner, I've been facilitating shamanic spirit retrieval sessions since 2007. When you participate in a soul retrieval ceremony, you gather the pieces of yourself that have been traumatized, calling your energy back to you on a physical, mental, spiritual and emotional level.  One of my teachers said, "We come to this earth walk like a piece of smashed mirror. Each piece is like a giant puzzle, reflecting the light of Great Spirit. We spend our lifetime fitting these pieces together until we have a finished mirror, a totality of being. The pieces that have been blown away through trauma in our lifetime need to be retrieved."

Reiki
In Reiki energy healing training, we use the Sanskrit Medicine Buddha chant. I also incorporate the Christ energy when I call on the Medicine Buddha, who has transcend the reincarnation loop. Both Christ Consciousness and Tibetan Reiki principles teach that we do not have to stay stuck in a loop of reincarnating to work on "lessons".

Kambo frog medicine ceremony is a shamanic ritual for spiritual healing and physical detox.
I have been wanting to tell the story of my first Kambo frog medicine experience on January 7. Kambo is known in the Amazon as the "Vaccine of the Forest". Kambo secretions contain over 120 (known) bioactive peptides that stimulate healing on a physical level.
The cool thing about intuitively creating whether it's podcasting, writing blogs or creating online courses, is that I don't put something out in the world until it feels right.

I was introduced to Human Design in 2010 and it has totally rocked my world and up-leveled my healing practice. Every relationship in my life (especially my relationship with myself) has been dramatically affected by my study of this valuable information.

The very first energy healing technique I ever learned was Polarity Therapy. After that, I was introduced to Reiki in 2001 and it rocked my world! I made it my life's work to travel the planet in search of the best healers and learn everything I could about energy healing.

This is my story of how Reiki changed my life and why I don't teach Reiki anymore.

So many energy healing modalities to choose from. Do you ever feel overwhelmed about what to learn?

I have been a certified Usui Reiki Master/Teacher since 2003. I would guess that I've initiated around 100 students into the Reiki Healing Lineage. The path of the Reiki healer was a beautiful introduction into the world of energy healing for me.

These days, I have moved past teaching a lot of modalities but I incorporate all of them into my training in a very inclusive way. Techniques I work with and teach every day include Polarity Therapy, Huna Hawaiian energy healing, Healing Touch, Dowsing and some aspects of Usui Reiki.
