The Tour de France is the worldâs most prestigious and demanding cycling race, held annually each July. First staged in 1903, the race spans 21 stages over 23 days, covering approximately 3,500 kilometers across France and occasionally neighboring countries. It features a mix of flat stages, mountain climbs, time trials, and iconic summit finishes like Alpe dâHuez and Mont Ventoux.
Riders compete not just for individual stage wins but also for various classification jerseys: the yellow jersey (general classification leader), green jersey (points classification), polka-dot jersey (best climber), and white jersey (best young rider).
