S2 E12 Join Mrs Peers and I as we chat all things behaviour and development. Shelley is a Special needs Teacher for children in years 7-9. We chat about a plethora of topics including the importance of early education for children aged 1-5, how to communicate to our children when they are testing the boundaries and how to help ASD Children transition from Primary School to High School. Shelley is a Super Mum of 4 too, so she has so much experience with effective communication and handling situations. S2 E11 This is Part 2 with Midwife Jade, join us as she shares the world of Midwifery with us all. We chat about what to do if you and your Midwife don't click and how she manages to separate her own beliefs and value system when caring for her patients. Jade gives her best tips on preparing for labour and busts some myths around bringing on labour. Things like sex whilst heavily pregnant, stretch and sweeps, and caster oil are on the list. Jade Shares her expertise on the different pain relief options and when they are most likely to be asked for during labour! In this weeks Episode I had the pleasure of checking in with Midwife Jade. We chat about the current restrictions in place in hospitals due to COVID-19. We also chat ab out our hopes for some positive outcomes occurring due to the Pandemic. Jade explain s the many varying roles she has had as a Midwife in QLD, and shares some of her most memorable moments. I take a trip down memory lane as I share some of my juicy birth experiences with my own midwife too. We chat about how she manages to keep professional in some cases when the patient doesn't get along with a midwife and some of the challenges she faces. We also dive deep into the many fears women have in labour and Jade provides some words of wisdom to help Mummas get though them. This week I had the pleasure of chatting to Lara a Stay at home Mumma of a toddler. She is a Gold Coast blogger focusing on family friendly activities, playgrounds and eats. You can find her content here. My beautiful friend Chloe and I decided to start going on Mum Play Dates together every Friday ticking off the recommendations and reviews Lara Shared. We loved it and our boys always had the best time adventuring together.
Since Covid-19 and isolation has come into play our play dates and adventures have been put on hold. But her content has not! Lara has become so much more creative and now shares ideas for at home play, sensory activities and with restrictions easing- quiet places to picnic with the family. I’m excited to get to know Lara better and discover how she’s managing isolation at home with a two year old and a husband who works away at times. S2 E7 I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with one of my role models, Mum of 3 Krissy Ropiha, Founder of Her Nourished kids. She is a certified nutrition coach and an author of many kid friendly recipe books! In this Episode get to know Krissy, she shares how she’s keeping it together juggling home schooling, Uni study and house work expectations whilst in isolation. Krissy opens up about how having a toddler at home whilst trying to home school is a challenge and shares her tips on how she is managing it.
We chat about why Krissy didn’t defer Uni during the pandemic and decided to stick it out. We also focus on how important it is to lower our usual expectations to alleviate some pressure during the current times. Krissy and I got into detail about what inspired her to create her business Her Nourished Kids. We talk about a few of her different recipe books and some online resources she has available. Krissy shares her lunch box tips and meal time hacks to get us through isolation. We discuss food refusals,language around food rejections and modeling behaviours for our children. Krissy has a wealth of knowledge on budgeting tips to make your life easier and your wallet fuller! If you want to feel like you are doing a great job this Episode will validate just that! The Final Episode of the April Fertility Series- Episode 6. Steph is joined by Kit Peters Owner of Together We Wait- a solution-focused community that brings women in IVF together both online and in-person. Kit shares her very personal journey of IVF and the emotional tolls the process had on her life. She explains how she had silent Endometriosis during her IVF treatments without knowing. Kit shares how she was treated for the syndrome and how a life changing event in an Uber ultimately changed her thoughts on talking about her IVF struggles. She went through a relationship breakdown and ultimately now has a new outlook on life with a passion for helping others. We chat about the amazing community she created to allow other women to express and feel supported throughout and after their fertility journey. This Episode will expand your knowledge of fertility and also provide you with a community to feel less alone.
