In our first episode of the season, Paul opens up to Ben Gibson about his personal experience through the AIDS crisis in 1980s Sydney. As a gay man living through those tumultuous times, Paul's story resonates deeply with many who faced similar challenges and the mark it leaves on the community to this day. He recounts the emotional turmoil of receiving a false positive result and confronting his own mortality, as well as nursing friends though to their deaths and what life is like for him now.
