An interpretation of Matthew 7:7–8 (ESV):
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
An Interpretation of Matthew 7:6 (ESV) “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.”
An interpretation of Matthew 6:19 - 21 (ESV)
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.”

Episode 22 of A Thought Experiment. In this episode I talk about the romantic nature of playoff baseball and how amazing it is to play in any type of playoff atmosphere and our journey towards advancing to the finals. We then have a FIVE-PART interview, talking to five players from five different countries, which is an amazing cultural audio experience. Finally we finish with the word of the week, Kenosis, and why giving up is the absolute best.
This week’s episode of A Thought Experiment explores the pursuit of a championship and what it takes to stay present in that journey. We dive into flow states—how different practices can open the door to deeper performance and awareness. Along the way, we share encounters with unique individuals who shape perspective and sharpen purpose.
This episode also features an interview with Leo Brauer, a holistic coach whose work lives at the intersection of athletic performance, mindset mastery, and spiritual curiosity. With a background in sports, martial arts, and strength training, Leo blends discipline, creativity, and self-awareness to help others unlock human potential and access the flow state.
To close, we conduct a thought experiment on the word interference, uncovering how it weaves through both science and the human experience.
Today’s episode focuses on the idea of creating context and the importance of context in understanding people, places, and situations. From there, we move into a thought experiment on the word protean and the Greek god from which it is derived, Proteus. The discussion then turns toward Undaunted Courage and the story of Lewis and Clark in their exploration of the American West. I also speak about my personal connection to Lewis and to Idaho, and to Lewis and Clark State College, where I pay tribute to legendary coach Ed Cheff and reflect on the national championship I was part of in 2008.
As always, it’s all part of a thought experiment.
This week’s episode begins with a trip to Prague, reflecting on the photographs of Fred Kramer and the experience of hearing a symphony inside a church, an experience that sparked new realizations about churches and religion. I explore a thought experiment on the word cadence and how it has shaped my own journey toward spirituality. The episode also delves into the balance between emotion and intellect, and how their interplay and at times their separation can guide us into a state of flow in sports. As always, it is simply a thought experiment.
This week's episode involves the story of me getting thrown at for the second time in the last month and the benches clearing altercation that ensued. I also talk about the importance of having crazy goals, continuing to look at those goals and how goals really allow us to stay in the present moment. And finally, we conduct a thought experiment on the word ataraxia.
This week’s episode interweaves two core themes. The first being a review of the book Short Nights of the Shadowcatcher, and the second being a thought experiment on the word vocatio. This episode dives into the intermingling of those two central themes and how it relates to my own life. Additionally, I share my favorite observation of the week, and as always, finish the episode with a question of the week.
