More about the competition:

CALL FOR ENTRIES   MY FUTURE, OUR FUTURE YOUTH ESSAY AND ART COMPETITION ON NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION 2063  Are you a Malawian aged 10 to 25 and in primary, secondary or tertiary school? If yes, here is your chance to have a say on your future and that of Malawi, with a chance to win attractive prizes for it!  The National Planning Commission (NPC), an agency of the Malawi Government established in 2017 through Parliament with the mandate of developing and coordinating implementation of the country’s medium and long-term development plans, has embarked on a consultation process to solicit ideas from Malawians on the Malawi they want by 2063. This is part of the process of developing a successor to the Vision 2020 whose timeframe ends this year.   With Malawi being a youthful nation, it is only proper that the youth have a bigger say towards the country’s future. It is on this basis that the National Planning Commission - NPC in collaboration with its Youth Core Advisory Panel (Youth CAP) and with support from the National Youth Council of Malawi, UNICEF and the World Bank, has introduced a ‘My Future, Our Future Youth Essay and Art Competition,’ through which young Malawians will have a special opportunity to contribute towards the development of the new vision.   About the Competition  ‘My Future, Our Future Youth Essay and Art Competition’ targets school-going young people aged 10 to 25. The competition is in three categories of; Primary Students, Secondary Students, and Tertiary Students. Each category will have top three winners who’ll go away with prizes such as laptops and other educational materials as well as cash.  To enter the competition:  You must be a primary, secondary or tertiary school student Aged 10 to 25 For the essay competition, each interested individual should submit one essay with not more than 300 words explaining (i) one`s development vision for Malawi/aspired Malawi for 20163 and (ii) suggestions of what needs to be done for that vision to be achieved. For the art contest, each interested individual should submit one painting or drawing art-work depicting their vision for Malawi for 2063. Typed or handwritten essays or the finished art-work together with a cover letter containing your postal details, phone number and particulars of the class and school you go to and clearly marked,

‘My Future, Our Future Youth Essay and Art Competition’, should be submitted either by e-mail or post or hand, not later than 19th June, 2020 to: The Director General National Planning Commission P/Bag B316, Lilongwe 3, Malawi.  E-mail: dg@npc.mw For more clarification, please send an email to dg@npc.mw or call NPC Communications Specialist, Thom Khanje, on 0888879329.   National Planning Commission (NPC) – Spearheading Wealth Creation for All
