It has been a minute since we recorded something and that was not our goal. So in this episode we just want to catch you up on what has been going on in our sphere and what is to come. We talk about Michelle's mission trip fundraising, an amazing night of worship, group interactions, what God has been doing through those efforts and what has been heavy on our hearts! This world can seem daunting at times, but with God we know its all gonna be alright! Check out Tim’s blog T.W. Messer author at sportsnutt.home.blog
Michelle returns to the show and speaks about her upcoming missions trip to the UK. We discuss what she’ll be doing, what led her to do it, and how people can support her.
Today on the Messy Life Brief, Tim talks a little about the NCAA Women’s Title game, the harms of being too prideful, and the value of humility. Michelle is gone on a work assignment, so Tim holds down the fort.
The Kansas Senate becomes the first state to pass a bill that defines “woman” and “man” in state law. It’s titled the Women’s Bill of Rights, but isn’t it just common sense?
Tim and I attended a prophetic conference and so we wanted to talk about it. Being a Christian doesn't always mean you believe in all aspects of the Bible. And it is okay to research and be curious. So we decided to discuss our thoughts on the prophetic.
Tim and Michelle have spent the last week in the beautiful island paradise of Kauai. He gives a brief synopsis of the last week. Hear what they did, why they were there, and why Michelle was not on the podcast.
In this episode Michelle and Tim discuss Tim's testimony or his story of how God changed his life and the realization that making amends is going to be harder than he thought. Forgiving yourself for living in a way that doesn't honor God is not an easy thing to do. It is not easy to be vulnerable or transparent. However, the word of God tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. So take a listen and hopefully one day you will be ready to share your testimony with someone and experience the blessing of allowing God to transform you. We are living examples of what messy Christians are, but people willing to start somewhere and surrender to God.
In this episode, Tim and Michelle discuss alternative phrases for cursing, we discuss Michelle's challenging week so far, and a quick preview of our next episode which will test Michelle's ability to pronounce words.
In tonight's episode we discuss how our society over sexualizes circumstances, in regards to our youth. Children being influenced by society standards when it comes to sex. Children are being exposed to sexual imorality in ways we couldn't have predicted. We talk about the book Brave New World and did it foretell what the sexualizing of our children would be? From drag queen story hour to mainstream society, to the media, to the educational systems, our children are under attack. We want to know why our children are being influenced in this way and what we can do about it.
It's that time of year where we ask you, What are you thankful for? But is it a question that should only be asked during this holiday? I mean having an attitude of gratitude is something we strive to achieve on the daily. Tonight we express what we are thankful for and why and of course add in some other fun tidbits :) Enjoy
Why do people say "God won't give you more than you can handle?"
We talk about what we think about this statement. We also mix in some dad jokes, cat dislikes and some other stuff! Enjoy and let us know what you think!
So, when you have a discussion with a friend and you don't agree, do you agree to disagree or debate/fight it out? And remember you're a Christian! You are held to a higher standard. But sometimes we don't act very Christian like and that is what the wonderful gift of grace is for. Tonight Tim and I discuss our differences on cats, grown men wearing sport jerseys and whether it is okay to cuss out the Devil or not.
We are changing things up a bit and we want you on the journey with us...
Life is messy and we are changing our Podcast from Messin with the Messers to The Messy Life: Messy Christians living in an imperfect world
So Tim wanted the opportunity to express his deep affection for Nicolas Cage and I, Michelle, have allowed him to do so, here, on our podcast. However, we talk about movies, over-acting, Billy Madison and everything in between! On this day before Fourth of July, 2022, we pay homage to the GOAT (Tim's words) Nicolas Cage.
Its Fathers Day and Tim and Michelle are talking about their experiences with their fathers. Tim is discussing a little about his experiences with his own kids and of course there are some dad jokes in there!
