SOPHIE DOHERTY- Director of Music Partnerships (UK) at DICE

In this episode we spoke with Sophie who is Director of Partnerships at DICE. We discuss her journey into the Music from studying Arts, Music and Entertainment Management at LIPA to securing her Masters Degree in Business alongside working in South Africa as well as her passions for diversity and inclusion; specifically stemming from leadership positions.

During her time in South Africa, Sophie began managing bands and working within the Live Sector in Marketing and Partnerships. After the World Cup in 2010 there was much greater opportunity to tour in South Africa which led to a huge increase in ticket sales (100,000 to 1 million a year) working on tours for huge acts such as Ed Sheeran, Rhianna, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. She was nominated by IQ Magazine for Tomorrow’s New Boss/Arthur Award and also led ERG WeNation, supporting women in live music, especially in the time of the AmINext Movement.

Using the intel from her MBA Sophie has a Podcast titled 'Sound Leader' and in her spare time also plays in a folk punk band. She is always on the hunt for the great gig!

We really enjoyed working on this episode and hope you love listening! Don't forget to like, subscribe and leave a rating.
