Get Ready for Pride Month! - with Xavier Khalil
Welcome back everyone! We are back with season 2 of The Melanin Sound Wave and are kicking off this season with some great and extremely important topics and conversations being had!  For this Pride month and these special episodes, I brought back a great friend and previous collaborator to help me with these episodes. As a heterosexual woman, it is not my place to try and explain or have these conversations on what it means to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community or to talk about experiences because I am not a part of that community which makes me not as well versed to talk about it! That is where Xavier comes in and I could not be more excited for everyone to hear his voice all month long on these episodes! Xavier has been on the podcast before (check out "Exploring White Supremacies Ties and Effects on Attitudes Towards Misogyny and Homophobia in the Black Community - with Xavier Khalil" on all podcasting platforms if you haven't already) and he is coming back to cohost with me all month long! This episode gives everyone a quick look at who Xavier is, why he wanted to come and do this with me, and our shared goals for Pride month with podcast episodes and the platform itself! I could not be any more thankful to Xavier for coming back and hosting with me and spending the time educating all of us on such an important topic! Starting next week, you will hear some new voices of our collaborators and listen in on some amazing conversations that we all had together! See you all next week! *As always, make sure you follow The Melanin Sound Wave on Instagram (@themelaninsoundwave) and on all podcasting platforms so you know when episodes come out and you can further educate yourself! Enjoy listening and learning!*
