Royal Angst has a gritty and intense grunge sound with powerful vocals and a lot of trauma and attitude that lives up to the name. Jackie Rose of Royal Angst played with a full live band for years before becoming a mostly solo studio project, only working with a drummer and studio producer. We speak with Jackie about the 90’s influence on her sound and how we’re glad to see the 90’s increasingly influence today’s pop culture. We also get into her side project called Henley, which has a late 90’s/early aughts singer-songwriter vibe like that of Avril Lavigne and similar artists. We discuss her reasons for having a low-key social media presence and quiet album promotion. Later on, we get to her visual art and interesting album art she makes for her music releases, as well as listen to some of her best songs with you.
