Ken Eklund on Magic

Our first Ludogogy podcast guest is Ken Eklund! Ken is a designer of serious games tackling issues such as climate change, community resilience and water quality. These are most often in the Alternate Reality genre and inspire players to make shared stories which represent ‘emergent collective wisdom’. If that whets your appetite, then you may be disappointed that another characteristic of a Ken Eklund game is that you can no longer play it. They are finite events, which inevitably end. But the collective wisdom can still be accessed - as you will find if you search ‘World Without Oil’.

Find out more about Ken Eklund at writerguy.com.

The archive of the artefacts created by players of World Without Oil can be found through the Wayback Machine and you can also find Ken's article for Ludogogy from 2020 on our website.

The Ludogogy Podcast is the official podcast of Ludogogy Magazine. More about Ludogogy on linktr.ee/ludogogy
