Hey you! Welcome back ❤️
In this truly special episode, I sat down with the incredible Cape Town based jazz and 'Black Improvised Music' band Kujenga. We met up at a cute cafe in the heart of Johannesburg to chat about crowd-favourites such as Abaphantsi, the legacy they’re building, and the importance of authenticity and conscientisation in their music. We also get into the meaning behind their song Remembrance, their capsule collection with Artclub and Friends, and then loosen things up with some spicy ice breakers - an opportunity I used to get to know the musicians on a deeper level.
A special thanks goes out to the band for making time to see me on a freezing winter afternoon after a hectic gig night in Jozi🥹 I truly appreciate you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
If you made it to the “Mystery Question” let me know in the comments and we might just be able to convince the band to come back for another chat and mystery question reveal🥹✨
Did somebody say “first ever interview”?🤭
I’m beyooond excited to share this project with you!✨
I know you”ll love this!🌹
