Mental illness is more common than we know, Dreams take consistent work, and Building Teams.
Yulissa Delgado (@transparentyulii) who is the creator and host of her own talk show named Transparent, visited The Lorri Love Show and talked about her journey from interning to creating her own show, what she learned on the way, and what has helped her on the way. This episode covers many different topics including highlights from her talk show like: breaking stigmas surrounding mental health in the colored community, the connection between poetry and rap, and love and relationships including the after effects of getting cheating on. Yulissa also shares how she went from junior in high school to interning at F.I.T, leading up to interning at Shade 45, and what led up to her being asked to be a media correspondent for the B.Y.O.B Live Retreat that took place in Atlanta, Georgia this May of 2019. This episode digs back into some topics from Yulissa’s Talk Show Transparent like: breaking stigmas surrounding mental health in the colored community, the connection between poetry and rap, and love and relationships including the after effects of getting cheating on. Yulissa drops some gems about why it’s important to be honest with people, how appreciating the people who supports us is more important than being upset about who doesn’t, and how her belief that she is an intern to life allows her to continue learning and being innovative on her journey. Some more topics include why you need to get out there and connect with others, how you should formally contact people in positions you wish to work within, and understanding of art, the flattery of imitation, and how art is always recreated not necessarily stolen.
