In my latest attempt at the Spine Challenger, Mother Nature had other plans. Waist-deep snow, brutal winds, and freezing conditions turned an already tough race into a survival challenge. After battling through 30 miles of this, I made the tough call to DNF (Did Not Finish).

DNF. Three letters no endurance athlete wants to face. But it happens—and what really matters is how we deal with it.
