New episode of The Light! This week we shake the format of the show up a little bit and start doing series-based episodes based on iconic Hip-Hop albums and the artists that created them. There is no better group to kick things off with than A Tribe Called Quest. Q-Tip, Phife, Jarobi, and Ali formed their own lane in the early 90's and created legions of fans of all ages for almost 30 years strong. Their jazz-fusion and sample-based production is as much a part of the Golden Age soundtrack as any other. For a debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Path's of Rhythm was far ahead of its time - that along with De La Soul's seminal debut Three Feet High and Rising - kicked off an unprecedented era of creativity that defined the 1990's as the most dominant decade in Hip-Hop.
