Big law firms are now Donald Trump's special targets in his Executive Order, and we sure have a lot to say about it! Donald Trump's recent Executive Orders have targeted individual big law firms by naming them, getting rid of their security clearances, and disallowing government contracts. 3 of these firms are fighting in court, claiming that Trump's Executive Orders against them are unlawful and unconstitutional. At least one judge has already agreed with them, saying that Trump's actions against these law firms have a chilling effect on the law and on the practice of law. Another law firm caved, agreeing to provide $40 million in "free" legal services to Trump and his administration - even after the end of his presidential term. They also agreed to end all DEI programs and hiring practices so that Trump would withdraw his order against them. Another big law firm, which was not yet named in an Executive Order, made a separate and preemptive deal with Trump for $100 million in "free" legal services so that they would not be named in an upcoming Executive Order. For the first time in history, an Executive Order has been issued against lawyers and law firms - even by individual name.
