
Hello Intrepid Leaders and welcome to episode two of Go with the Flo!
In this episode we chat with the lovely Gillian Knight, Nursing Officer in the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer for Wales. Gillian shares her experience of being a Global Scholar and gives us an overview of her project. She also shares with us a little about her leadership journey and how she got interested in global nursing and policy.

Gill registered as a general nurse in 1994 and has held a varied range of senior nursing positions across care sectors and in the NHS primarily in cancer care including clinical practice, education, Cancer Services Coordinating Group, the Wales Cancer Network and was appointed as a Nursing Officer for Welsh Government in January 2018.
Gill had worked within the Welsh NHS for over 22 years since moving to Wales from her native Ireland. She now supports the Chief Nursing Officer as a nursing officer in the Welsh Government, providing professional advice for the following policy areas: nurse regulation; nursing education and career development; workforce modernisation and development including implementation of the Nurse Staffing Levels (Wales) Act 2016. Gill is the first Welsh FNF Global scholar.
Gill has worked with a number of third sector organisations as a nurse adviser to support nursing workforce developments in Uganda.
