For this episode, Giulia recorded a conversation with Janeen Page, a potter based in Taranaki, New Zealand.
Through the alchemy of her locally sourced ceramic glazes, Janeen has been getting closer and closer to the geology of her landscape, using pottery as a bridge between the creative and the functional world of crafts. Guided by the topic of slowness we explore Janeen’s latest project. Inspired by a book written in 1960, Janeen travelled around Aotearoa for three months documenting and collecting rocks to make glazes.
