Join George, Paul, and one slightly unreliable Land Rover, as they search the Suffolk landscape for clues to our past.
Along the way they'll detect with the finders of some of Britain's greatest treasures, and meet people who hunt for history in unique and brilliant ways.
But it's about more than just treasure.
This is a podcast about friendship and finding peace in the landscape, about understanding our place in time, and about eternal optimism, patience and romance.
It's about the power of a pint after a day in our gorgeous countryside.
But if you want a simple way to describe it to your mates, just tell them it's about two blokes, passionate about history, bombing around in a battered old Landy, trying to understand the landscape they love.

Join Paul, George and his muddy Land Rover as they search a mysterious Roman site with links to one of Rome's greatest Emperors, Marcus Aurelius.
Once home to a long-lost family, the boys call on all their experience to try and work out what was going on in this rural Suffolk landscape and make sense of all the clues this ancient family left. For George, it's a chance to add to his vast collection of rare Roman artefacts and his understanding of how everyday Romans lived. He also gets the chance to take a breather and watch Paul dig holes bigger than any man has ever dug before...
In the history world, 'X' never really marks the spot, and it doesn't here either.
It does, however, mark the pot.
