The Land Rovers: A History Hunting Podcast
The Land Rovers
22 episodes

A podcast about hunting for history, lost treasure and ordinary people discovering extraordinary objects.

When it comes to unearthing history George Ridgway and Paul Jacobs have the pedigree.

Well, George does.

He discovered Britain's largest Claudian hoard stuffed full of gold and silver Roman and Iron Age coins.

Paul found some rusty nails and a podcasting buddy.

Join George, Paul, and one slightly unreliable Land Rover, as they search the Suffolk landscape for clues to our past.

Along the way they'll detect with the finders of some of Britain's greatest treasures, and meet people who hunt for history in unique and brilliant ways.

But it's about more than just treasure.

This is a podcast about friendship and finding peace in the landscape, about understanding our place in time, and about eternal optimism, patience and romance.

It's about the power of a pint after a day in our gorgeous countryside.

But if you want a simple way to describe it to your mates, just tell them it's about two blokes, passionate about history, bombing around in a battered old Landy, trying to understand the landscape they love.

Secret London with Tim the London Walker

THE LAND ROVERS: A HISTORY HUNTING PODCAST

DIGGING DEEPER

Episode 9. Secret London with Tim the London Walker.

In this very special episode, George and Paul lace up their boots and hit London's ancient streets with special guest Tim Lewis - better known as Tim the London Walker. Filmmaker, storyteller, lover of the secret, quirky and unusual, Tim takes the boys on a fascinating journey through the Capital, where history hides behind every corner.

From the gleaming heights of The Shard to the ghostly remains of the Roman Walls, the trio explore the breathtaking juxtaposition of old and new that defines London's skyline and soul.

Along the way they uncover mysteries at the Mithreum, stroll through the mighty arches of Leadenhall Market and take Shakespeare's commute.

They stand on cobbles once trodden by Emperors, Kings, traders and slaves alike.

For George and Paul it's a far cry from the quiet Suffolk lanes and pubs, but for Tim, it's home, and luckily for the boys he's an A to Z and an encyclopedia all rolled into one.

Grab your headphones and a cold one, and get ready to walk the hidden veins of the City like never before.
