Exodus 38 – Completion of the Tabernacle Furnishings
Altar of Burnt Offering: Bezalel constructs the altar with bronze, including its utensils and grating.
Bronze Basin: Made from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
Courtyard: The hangings, pillars, bases, and entrance screen are completed.
Materials Accounted For: A detailed inventory of the materials used (gold, silver, bronze) is recorded. The census totals 603,550 men.
Exodus 39 – Priest’s Garments Completed
Ephod and Breastplate: Made with fine linen and adorned with gold, blue, purple, and scarlet threads; the names of the tribes are engraved on stones.
Robe, Tunics, Turban, Sash: Crafted exactly as God commanded.
Gold Plate: Engraved with “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” and affixed to the turban.
Final Inspection: Moses inspects all the work. It is done precisely as commanded, and he blesses the workers.
Exodus 40 – Tabernacle Assembled and God’s Glory Fills It
Tabernacle Set Up: God instructs Moses to set up the Tabernacle on the first day of the first month.
Anointing and Consecration: Moses anoints the Tabernacle, its furnishings, and consecrates Aaron and his sons as priests.
Glory of the Lord: After Moses finishes the work, the cloud covers the Tabernacle and God’s glory fills it, so much so that Moses cannot enter.
Guidance by Cloud and Fire: The cloud of God rests on the Tabernacle by day and fire by night, guiding Israel throughout their journey.
This marks the completion of the Tabernacle and God's visible presence among His people.
